Chris Bogle

Dr. Chris Bogle is a writer, filmmaker, and practice researcher based in the North East of England. He works predominantly in short and fragmentary forms, using them to explore class, place, mobility, and neurodiversity as a valid cognitive architecture for research and learning.

Alongside his writing and research, Chris has over two decades of experience in the screen industries. His drama work has screened at festivals internationally, including Cinequest, Carmarthen Bay, and Reykjavik International Film Festival, where The Rocketship was nominated for the Golden Egg Award for emerging talent, and selected for the Edinburgh International Film Festival Talent Lab.

His short fiction has appeared in The Belfast Review, Litro Magazine, Film Stories, and a Sans Press anthology. He was shortlisted for a New Writing North New Writer’s Award in 2023.

Before returning to academia Chris spent fifteen years as creative director of his own production company, working with clients including the NHS, Michelin, and Epic Games, on whose Unreal Engine projects he collaborated with the likes of NASA, McLaren Automotive, Oceaneering, and BMW.
