Chris started out as an assistant-director, producer’s assistant and runner on blockbusters, indie-features and 35mm shorts including the Harry Potter series and Shadow of the Vampire, working under directors including Christopher Columbus and Simon Cellan-Jones.
He trained as an AVID editor, becoming head of post-production at a new start-up production company in Newcastle upon Tyne and after three years Chris was made creative director where he recruited and trained a team of award-winning creatives, winning his own Royal Television Society award in 2007.
Chris became freelance and has been producing content for world leading brands and organisations for over a decade since then. After directing his first two narrative shorts which screened worldwide at Academy/BAFTA accredited festivals, he decided to return to film-school at the University of the West of Scotland to study for a master’s degree, to spend a year developing his craft as a drama director and exploring new creative work.
Chris made three shorts during his MA year. He graduated with a distinction in 2018 for his thesis film, The Rocketship, and won the university’s highest accolade, The Court Medal, for outstanding academic achievement.
Chris is currently writing two new shorts and developing his first feature treatment.
